Seeds: Somebody Has to Save Them

May 1 - October 13
BC Farm Museum, 9131 King St
Fort Langley, BC

Seeds: Somebody Has to Save Them
May 1 – October 13, 2014

Seeds. We save them, we plant them, and we eat them. Virtually every food we eat comes from a seed – but from where do all of the seeds come?

This new exhibition explores the vital link seeds have played in all areas of agriculture and pioneer life in Langley: from vegetable farming, to grain growing, to raising livestock. It will explore how seeds were planted, harvested, and processed; however the focus will be on how early settlers historically grew their own seed and cleaned it for the following year.

In this vein, this exhibit will also address the issues with the modern-day seed supply, and maintains that seeds remain at the heart of farming and agriculture in Langley, and beyond.

Connexions Semences: Le Symposium de Semences

November 7-9
Macdonald College, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue
Montreal, QC
