New Resources for Seed Growers

Tha Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security has just introduced a new webinar series, and a library of resources for seed growers! We also have the results of the 2020 Farmer Survey. Find all these great resources at www.seedsecurity.ca

2021 Seed Webinar Series

The global pandemic has shown that stewardship of seed and innovation in plant breeding have never been more important to support Canada’s seed security. We are excited to share with you our 2021 webinar series where we will explore how farmers and plant breeders are working to save and improve important Canadian crop varieties, as well as the regional seed systems that make those varieties available for the benefit of all Canadians.

Join us for this national conversation about seeds in Canada! All webinars are free!

Resource Library

Over the years, we have been working with farmers and researchers to put together a diversity of resources to learn about the seed system in Canada. We’re excited to share our new searchable Resource Library to make it easier for farmers and seed growers to advance their knowledge on seed in Canada.

2020 Farmer Survey Results

In November 2020, The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security worked with Good Roots Consulting to conduct a survey with farmers and seed growers who have taken part in our research and training programs. We are excited to share the results from our national survey here!

Thank you for your feedback on how the Bauta Initiative can better support your efforts in building seed security in Canada!
